Glass - Sydney

Luke Mangan probably spends more time overseas nowadays than at his flagship Sydney restaurant Glass but the cuisine is still spectacular. He has restaurants in San Francisco, Tokyo, Melbourne, on a cruize ship and is currently in Russia looking for new opportunities. At Glass, his menu offers a huge number of options - appetizers, caviar, oysters, entrée, mains, cheese and desserts. There were just so many things we wanted to try on the menu that I think the next time we will go for the degustation menu. There is also the chef's table in the kitchen with the stunning Georg Jensen collections. The wine list is spectacular and with the interiors done by The famous New York designer Tony Chi - you definitely cant go wrong at Glass.

Glass - Gold Coast

Glass is at the newly renovated Marina Mirage at the Gold Coast. Great Gold Coast views of big expensive yachts and blue water. The lunch menu has Tapas style dishes as well as a great seafood focused a la carte menu. The fresh seafood platter looked amazing with lobster and bugs etc. We tried a couple of the tapas style dishes and some entrees and they were all very good.

Angus beef tartare, eschalots, cornichon, tarragon and organic egg yolk, tempura onion rings and horshradish sorbet

Grilled 5 spice rubbed quail with smoked paprika aioli

Prawn lollipop with nuoc cham

Schezuan calamari salad, mixed leaves, red onions, tomato and glass dressing

Bitter chocolate tart with pomegranate coulis and sweetened mascarpone
